
Professional Standards & Terms and Conditions
Colours: Two (2) coats of interior or exterior paint accordingly are allowed for on the walls, woodwork, etc. unless specifically requested or recommended otherwise. Some colours do not cover well; therefore extra coats may be required. This may affect quoted price in the case of unforeseen circumstances.
Robe or Cupboard Interiors: Please request these specifically, as they are not normally included in the quotation.
Repairs: Sometime we come across unforeseen problems like rotted woodwork, rusted areas, dampness, stains on walls and ceilings, cracks, holes, swollen or damaged panels, flaking, blistering, substrata failure, sticking or misaligned windows and doors, etc. If the problem requires additional labor and materials, or skilled professional attention, we will give you notification and discuss with you how to proceed. However if the problem is of a minor nature, we may be able to fix it at no extra charge to you.
Asbestos: If during preparation, particularly scraping and sanding, asbestos is found, we shall not proceed with the work on that area until asbestos panels etc. have been replaced by a professional. This will be at your expense, together with any additional cost for extra undercoat or labor.
Shrubs and Trees: We may take care of minor weeding, pruning of overgrowth touching the areas to be painted. However we shall not carry out extensive, weeding, pruning of shrubs and trees, please make the necessary arrangements. All care taken, although stepping on over grown flower beds is unavoidable.
Standard of Finish: Due to the nature of brushing-on paint, some minor brush marks will be evident. These will be kept to a minimum and well within normal expected industry standards.
Wall Paper: All wall paper removal is quoted on an hourly rate of $45.00. Due to the unknown state of the wall behind, the eventual repairs on badly damaged wall surfaces have to be carried out by a professional plasterer at your cost.
Furniture: Light furniture (e.g., coffee tables, chairs & stools etc.) can be moved at no extra cost. Please allow $45.00 per hour per person for moving larger and heavy items. Antiques and pianos, artwork (framed & other) will not be moved as we are not insured for removals. Furniture that can't be moved will be covered and protected before any work commences, although we do recommend discussing this with us at the time of booking, to ensure that your valuable items remain unaffected by the painting process.
Protection: We use drop sheets to protect timber flooring, carpets, concrete paths etc.
Delays: Notification will be given of delays etc. (e.g., start dates & weather delays.)
Payment Terms: Progress payments are to be as follows:
30% of the total project cost, at commencement.
30% of the total project cost, half way through.
Remaining balance at the completion of the project.
Hourly rate quotations: Paint and material costs to be advanced. Labor payments required every Friday and at project completion.
